A lesson learned...

at Perkins at 1 am.  What is that lesson, you ask?  Don't order breakfast from Tina!  Here's how the breakfast date went down:

Joshua and I get there at 12:45-ish and we're the only customers in the place.  I decided (and pointed) I wanted the Country Sausage Scrambler (one of my faves), with a side of pancakes to share with my sweetie.  I get the Sausage and Veggie Scrambler - one of their new items.  I let Tina know that this isn't what I had wanted despite her stating sweetly "oh, this is what you ordered..."  I politely let her know that no, it's not what I had ordered and that I wanted the Country Sausage Scrambler with sausage, gravy, etc.  "Ohhh!  I'm sorry!" and she said she'd go fix it.  In the meantime, she brought a muffin free of charge for the mix-up.  In a few minutes, she brings me my "correct" order but this is now the Chicken Fried Steak Scrambler.  "Is that right?"  "No, but that's fine."  "Well, this has the gravy that you had wanted"  "Yeah but I wanted sausage with it, not chicken fried steak".  Still confused she says she's going to go get the menus so I know what to order next time and so that we're clear.  So AGAIN, I point to what I had ordered in the first place and she says "Ohhh!  so this (pointing to my second attempt) is the Country Fried Chicken Scrambler"  "No, this isn't chicken, it's country fried steak"  Ugh!  So around and around this went for another minute or so and I said it was fine, I'd pick around it because I wasn't going to waste ANOTHER plate of food.  She brought me my sausage on a separate plate and I picked out the gross chicken fried steak and finished my breakfast.  She came back awhile later and says "Oh, I'm so glad you liked it" to which I replied "Well, I didn't really.  I just picked the other stuff out"  She thanked me a few times for being "so cool" about the mix-ups and how sorry it was she couldn't get her only table's order correct.  While Tina was very nice, she couldn't have had much more than a few marbles rollin' around up there in her head.

Oh well.  It gave Joshua and I a good chuckle.

Until later...
