Well it's been awhile, hasn't it...

Not sure if anyone is reading these anyway but if so, I apologize for the brief hiatus. Life changes and I decided that I wasn't going to feel guilty if I didn't get to this everyday or even every week.  So, what's been going on...

First off, our lives (mine and Joshua's) have been switched up as though we're dice in a Bobble game.  He was told on a Thursday that as of the following Monday, he would be switched to the "night guy".  This means he went from a 7:30 am - 4 pm work day to to a 3 pm to 11 pm work day... night... ?  So the past few weeks we've been getting used to that while I'm trying to get used to opening everyday at work - meaning getting outta bed at 4:15 am.  (sigh)  Oh well.  I'm usually home between 10 and 11 each day so that gives Josh and I some time to spend together before he's off to work.  We're making it work.  After all, what else can we do right now? :)

A few weeks ago the 'bou girls came over and we had a appetizer/movie day.  They came over around 2 pm and we had some good snacks and watched movies and played Last Word.  This is a great board game that I recommend.  Rules are easy - simply be the last one to say a word fitting the chosen category and letter before the timer buzzes.  :)  I made pickle roll-ups and jalepeno popper dip.  They were a hit.  I'll include the dip recipe below.

Curtains!!  Josh gave me permission to go buy new curtains for the kitchen/dining room and living room!  :)  I'm so excited!  I've been living with these fruity-scalloped valences for several years now and I'm happy to be getting rid of them!!  The kitchen is done and now has crisp clean white valences.  The living room is still being determined.  I think I'm gonna go red in there but the I'm torn between valences.  The print I really really really like... doesn't come in valences so I'd need to cut/sew the panels down to valences.  Can I do it??  I'm just not sure.  They're linen so I'm hesitant to start sewing only to snag them at some point and have a bunch of runs/holes/etc in my new curtains I've waited so long to get.  :)  What to do?  What to do?!  I think a call to mama is in order. :)

Well, that about all for now.  Thanks for reading.  Until later...
